Jaime's Pitch Perfect Review

If you like music, laughing, and enjoy an all around feel-good movie, then Pitch Perfect is the movie for you! Recently released in 2012, Pitch Perfect is a fun-loving, romantic comedy that brings everyone to their feet. Centered around music, Pitch Perfect leaves viewers with a newfound love of particular a cappella stylings while finding themselves drawn to the main characters Beca, Jesse, and my personal favorite, Fat Amy. Actors and actresses Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Skylar Astin, and Rebel Wilson do a fantastic job with their roles and really show off their musical talents.
With a rating of PG-13, Pitch Perfect has a target audience of anyone 13 or older and has become quite the hit for a variety of ages. Tying together music along with friendship, love, commitment, motivation, and the underdogs coming out on top, I give Pitch Perfect a 9 out of 10!

The movie starts off as Beca, a teen with high hopes of one day becoming a DJ, heads to college where she is introduced to Barden college’s women’s a cappella group: The Barden Bellas. After losing at finals the year before, The Bellas set a goal of not only winning finals this year, but also beating their biggest rival: The Treblemakers. The Bellas have no choice but to rebuild their team, work hard, and sing to win.

After try outs, The Bellas consisted of Beca, Chloe, Aubrey, Fat Amy, Stacie, Cynthia Rose, and Lilly, and from the start, it was clear that the girls could not associate with any members of the competition, The Treblemakers. When they’re not practicing, Barden Bella Beca and Treblemaker Jesse work together and develop a close relationship that influences Beca’s attitude, which then motivates her to transform the Bella’s music to help them win.

At the conclusion of the movie, the Treblemakers and Barden Bellas compete at finals and while underdog Benji of the Treblemakers makes his grand debut, the renovated and transformed Bellas make a statement with their new style. Pitch Perfect leaves viewers thrilled with the ending, as they get everything that they've wished for and more.

Overall, Pitch Perfect is definitely a must-see because it is simply amazing. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

  1. I absolutely loved this movie; I could watch Pitch Perfect over and over again. Benji absolutely melts my heart and I love how free spirited Becca is. Today is linear algebra, we learnt about nodes and all I could think about was this movie. I could not keep a straight face at all. As far as your review goes, I find it to be incredibly accurate. I love the different movies and pictures you incorporated and think that they are a good representation of the rest of the movie. I thought it was neat how you linked the different actors to a website about them. The only thing I disagree with in your review is the 9/10 overall rating, this movie is definitely a perfect 10.

  2. Pitch Perfect has to be the greatest movie ever; and I hate musicals. My three roommates and I decided to ask the old lady that lived upstairs from us to borrow a movie, and she gave us Pitch Perfect. We watched it four times before returning it to her. The next night we wanted to watch it again, so we just went out and bought it. We pretty much made every one of our friends that came over watch it, and the majority of them liked it. Although, a lot of them would get aggravated when we would recite Fat Amy’s lines throughout the whole movie. I would say that we were a little obsessed with the movie for about two weeks, but it started to die down. We don’t watch it every day anymore, but every Friday night, if we’re not working, we order pizza and watch Pitch Perfect.
